For the forthcoming Crematoria The South Bohemian Theatre Ballet, which is being staged as part of the festival Southern Character, Alena Pešková led the auditions for dancers.
The casting process followed a specific working method based on her workshop The Body in Emotion and Emotion in the Body – this time in an abridged form and tailored specifically to the needs of the forthcoming production.
Working with the body, emotions, expression and the ability to react immediately to a situation has demonstrated just how remarkably adaptable and open-minded the dancers of the South Bohemian Theatre Ballet are. It is precisely their flexibility as performers and in their movement that has become a key starting point for further work on the production.
