Peshkovi: 3 combined arts
The opening of this year's jubilee season aroused huge interest among visitors.
The exhibition opens this year's 60th anniversary season of the Municipal Gallery Vysoké Mýto. It is the first joint exhibition for Richard Pesek and his descendants. The huge attendance at the opening is proof that the author, although he does not exhibit at home very often, has many fans.
Richard Pešek, painter, sculptor, illustrator and scenographerwho has won accolades around the world for his immense talent. He exhibits mainly abroad. His paintings hang in the White House, for example, and his life and work have even become a graduation question in Australia. He has made numerous study tours abroad. In terms of his interest in the human being, Pesek's work is a serious contribution to the debate on the relationship between art and morality. The starting point of his work is the landscape or the human body, which he connects with technical and civilisational elements and a variety of colours. Six years ago, after a botched operation, he was confined to a wheelchair. His physical handicap has not yet allowed him to return to his work. Travel, which he and his wife had looked forward to in retirement, is also impossible.
Richard Pesek jr. is sculptor, graphic artist, designer and set designer. He graduated in sculpture and graphic arts at the Academy of Fine Arts. He presents his works at exhibitions and symposia at home and abroad. Since 2007, he has been the head of the Woodcarving and Product Design and Wood Restoration and Carving courses at the Higher Vocational School of Arts and Crafts and the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Prague.
